PHERZAWL

A Hmar village in Southwest Manipur established around 1850 by the great Bulhmang and his tribesmen. A village that established the first high school in the entire hill districts of Manipur in 1951 and produced a number of high government and non-government dignitaries in its heydays. An important centre of education for the Hmar and its kindred tribes. A new state government district headquarters from 2016.

SINLUNG ACADEMY OF LETTERS

A literary body established to cater to the literary needs and aspirations of Hmar and Sinlung originated peoples. It’s no coincidence that Dr. John Pulamte’s dream and that of Sinlung Academy of Letters’ in building a strong Hmar lexical foundation is met in the birth of Pherzawl Diksawnari.

JOHN H PULAMTE

A tribal student and social activist; a son, a husband and a father who also walk.
